Dr. Clara Marín Orenga graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2004 from CEU Cardenal Herrera University and completed her doctoral thesis at the Animal Technology Center, Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research, focusing on the epidemiology of Salmonella in poultry. She earned her Ph.D. in 2009 with European Mention and Summa Cum Laude honors. Dr. Marín then carried out predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships at the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency in the UK. In 2009, she joined CEU Cardenal Herrera University as a faculty member in Veterinary Medicine. Currently, she is a Full Professor and the lead professor for the Poultry Infectious Diseases course. Since 2014, she has been a European Diplomate with the European College of Poultry Veterinary Sciences and served as the Education Committee Coordinator from 2015 to 2021. In October 2023, she became the Vice President of the World Poultry Veterinary Association.
Dr. Marín leads the research group “Development of Efficient Production Systems for the Control and Evaluation of Food Quality and Safety.” Her research focuses on the epidemiology of Salmonella, Campylobacter, and Escherichia coli in poultry and other animals. She has participated in several European and national projects, supervised 12 doctoral theses, and published 77 JCR-indexed articles. She is also an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission.
