Prof Dr Rungtip Chuanchuen

Rungtip Chuanchuen is a veterinarian professor at Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University. She received her DVM from Chulalongkorn University and MS and PhD in Microbiology from Colorado State University.  She is head of the Research Unit in Microbial Food Safety and AMR; the Director, Center for AMR in Foodborne Pathogens (in cooperation with WHO); Director, Global Foodborne Infections Network: South-East Asia and Western Pacific Region, and the Director, FAO Reference Centre for AMR. Her research has focused on molecular epidemiology and mechanisms of AMR in bacteria of veterinary public health importance using One Health approach.  She supports countries in Asia and Pacific to strengthen their capacities and capabilities to manage AMR risks, national AMR surveillance, data collection and analyses, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and quality assurance in veterinary laboratories. She is the subcommittee for national AMR surveillance in Thailand and a member of the CLSI Working Group on Aquaculture AST Methods (VET03-04). Additionally, she serves as a member of QTG AIS, and OHHLEP Term II.
