Prof Dr Naola Ferguson-Noel

Dr. Ferguson-Noel is a professor in Population Health at the Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center (PDRC) at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her DVM at the University of the West Indies followed by her Masters of Avian Medicine and PhD in Medical Microbiology at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Ferguson-Noel’s key area of service is in providing clinical mycoplasmology services to the national and international poultry industry as part of the PDRC’s diagnostic laboratory.

As a veterinarian and researcher, Dr. Ferguson-Noel has worked closely with the global poultry industry in the area of avian mycoplasma control and diagnostics. Dr. Ferguson-Noel has been involved in several research projects and has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer reviewed journal articles and published abstracts at national and international meetings; she also regularly conducts workshops and continuing education seminars. Dr. Ferguson-Noel was UGA’s 2022 Inventor of the Year and has also been elected as a Fellow to the National Academy of Inventors in 2022 recognizing the global impact of her work with poultry vaccines.
